Budget: Looking to spend somewhere around $1000-1500 including taxes.
More specific use (what games, what programs): I would like to set this for Everquest, World of Warcraft, and some league of legends.
Planned time until purchase: Whenever
Do you need an Operating System?: Yes
Do you have any specific preferred components?: No, but preferably compatible, as I know nothing about computers.
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: I would like to be able to plug speakers in for when my wife uses the computer for random videos, but I mainly use a headset...
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: whatever you think is best, but like I said, I'm kind of new to putting stuff together, so unsure on how to do either.
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: Nope, set on everything.
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs):33950

What are your preferences in case style? (lights, flashy, dull, etc) I like lights, color don't really matter to much, but I like it to glow.
Are you planning to use multiple monitors? Yes, I would like to use 2.
Are you looking for upgrade-ability? Yes, I would like to not have to rebuild another computer in another year, when a better game comes out then WoW.
Do you have any preferred brands? None that I can think of. Nvidia seems to be doing well?
Can you reuse any components from an older build? No.
Is there anything else you think we should know? I would love to have the best build possible. Also saving any money would be a plus. Will donate FG to the best one I like.

did you really link $180 speakers for youtube videos?

toss in some red led light strips and you're good to go

if it's too expensive downgrade the GPU following this order until it fits in your budget

960 < 370 < 970 < 380 < 980 < 390 < 980ti

not sure where the x versions fall but that's the basics i believe

Thank you. Is there much difference between the two comps? What seems to be everyone's top picks for video cards?

980ti is the best single card solution at the moment
also, i cant connect to pcpartpicker atm for some reason, so gimmie a minute lol

what games are you looking at playing mainly?
tbh this card is complete overkill for anything out atm

No problem, I am having the same issue. I think their site might be down. Sometimes it loads, just very slowly.

Currently I am playing Everquest a lot, it is an old time game. I plan on playing Everquest next when it finally releases. Other then that I mainly spend most of my time on WoW.

the 970 suggested is more than adequate to run that game.
your budget requirement is much higher than what you need to play the game flawlessless on max settings.
are there any games you're excited about when they get released?

main difference is skylake (new intel architure) vs haswell (older, nothing wrong with it if you want to buy that over skylake)
skylake allows DDR4 which allows for higher speeds with higher CAS which will change as time goes on, it also runs ram at lower voltages compared to DDR3 for intel cpus.

with your budget i would suggest skylake, the GPU comes down to how much you want to spend on it tbh.
i have an msi 970 atm
here is my personal rig: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mnnfjX

also if you choose to go with a "lower end" gpu (the 970 over the 980ti) then you could get a color scheme going with some sexy appeal to it lol
or you could go for a "silent" build if noise is something that is important to you.

I'm fine with whatever most people think is best. I don't really know much about computers at all. So basically whatever part you guys put into the pcpartpicker is what I'll end up getting haha.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZCKGyc - matching build @ $1,166
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/VmJRD3 - matching but not really accenting the red color @ $1080
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/z42T23 - non matching and swapped the case @ $1016

i would spend the additional 150 to make it all sexy looking though lol
oh and i changed out the ram that was in the 1st build i posted because it wasn't the right color red
supposed to be black but the pic of it doesn't do it justice.
