You can't use the HDD with the Win 7 install on a new build. You can reuse the hard drive, but not the "existing" Win 7 install ON that hard drive.

if you have the product key from your old system and plan to junk it, just take that product key and download the ISO from microsoft and create a bootable USB and use that product key during install.

I found my win 7 key, my dad will let me borrow his disk, I think it works that way right?
