will tip some fgs to whoever come with a elaborate answer to this :D (basicly more than just take #1 or take #2, just say whats the REAL difference between both, maybe i missed something idk)

will buy this morning so ^^

if that change anything, im going with a i5 4690k and a gtx 970 STRIX from asus

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z97anniversary

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97gaming5

im hesitating between those 2 z97 mobos...

one is 70$ and one is 155$

i don't know much about mobos or anything but from what i can see in the specs they can both overclock my cpu and all that very good and they both made for it, they can both support the type of RAM im going for (1600 or 1866)

the only difference i really see at all is the fact that the msi can SLI and crossfire and the asrock don't... but seriously i don't ever plan on running dual graphic cards.

and if i ever do want to run dual graphic cards it will be in a future far enought that i'll prolly need a new cpu and mobo anyways lol

so basicly am i paying more with the msi only for the sli/crossfire support that i will never use? and the compability with more types of ram (that i also dont benefit from whatsoever)

or is there some hidden things that i can't see? they both have nice reviews etc from what i know the only difference is crossfire/sli and 75$ difference (that is a big factor for me)

Quality of the components.
Much better silicon on more expensive motherboards.
Like bronze, gold and platinum in power supplies.

In terms of motherboards it won't necssarily affect performance, but will drastically affect durability.

In terms of PSU it depends directly on how much power is your system demanding and indirectly affect your PSU durability.

Example a 650w plat PSU will deliver close to 100% power advertised, while a bronze can deliver up to as low as 90% or even lower (haven't read about this in while). Also the more of PSU is being used the shorter it will last, if its plat will last longer and deliver more power and be more reliable than bronze.

A PSU of 750w in a system that demands 550w wil easily provide all the power needed without failure and last an eternity.
A PSU of 550w on a system that demands 550w, will definitely give you blue screen once in awhile regardless of PSU quality, and burnout in a very short period of time.
You should always go for 100-150w PSU above your needs, especially if you overclock anything, and count on the PSU quality factor.

750w will easily last on that system, I just edited my post lol
550gold for a system with 500 demand is far from ideal, get a 650 gold.

That isnt a valid link for the build.
But I would go with the msi motherboard on a heart beat over asrock.
Remember your computer will last years, is 70 bucks really that much of a difference on such an investment?

Gaming 5 because it has 8 power phase, which means higher OC potential. More features, some that u prolly won't use like sli etc. Better built

Anniversary is a basic budget board, not really great for OCing. Though ocing Pentium g3258 is aight. It Has 4 power phases.
