Just finished moving from my old apartment and when i set up my Pc here it wouldnt start. Unplugged everything and redid the connections. Still wouldnt start. When I tried to power it on all the fans would spin at like 100% speed and thats it. Nothing else would happen. After some testing I got it to start just fine without the GPU in so I'm assuming that its dead. I was using http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102915 but figure if I have to get a new one anyway that I may upgrade. Are there any cards out there with similar specs for <$200?

I would love that to be the case. How should I go about diagnosing what's wrong then? I've tried multiple times unplugging and reconnecting all the cords.... The only time I've been able to get it to start is with the gpu completely unplugged.

/e nvm.

just somethings i want to make clear

1. when you boot it on, all the fans spin at 100% until you shut it off? or do they spin for a short moment, then shut down?
2. if it does stay on, do you still got power to your mouse/keyboard? if they have lights?
3. when you boot up and it turns on, theres just nothing displaying on your monitor?

Have you tried other outlets?

Otherwise id take a look at some r9 280's or 280x's as a replacement.

1. Yeah fans spin until I manually power it down.
2. No power to anything
3. With gpu plugged in, no, there's nothing at all on the monitor. Without, it boots like normal.

Yeah, tried both pcs slots. Switched out the cables from psu to gpu. Tried a different outlet.... gonna borrow a friend's gpu and see if it works before I buy a new one.

To reiterate a 280 will be about double the performance of your current card. Otherwise a 270 is a good choice.
If you're doing Nvidia, gtx 960 is the 280 equivalent and is say a 950 if you wanna spend about 150
