I hesitate with amd or NVIDIA
Im looking to buy à 970/NVIDIA
And now i got à 7870 amd that is bit old
What you Guy would do?

gtx 970, don't bother with 980, get a 980ti if you want something better than the 970 because the 980's not worth it unless you get it refurb/used/whatever for like 400$

Yes, Overclocking your cpu gives a big difference.
Look up benchmarks for exact numbers.
