What you intend to use it for?

Is it worth upgrading to 4690k performance-wise or should i just stick with my current 2500k and upgrade the gpu to a 980?
Depends on what you're using it for. Generally, you won't see much of a performance boost going from ~$200 to ~$400+ CPUs unless you use CPU-intensive software.
I think you're spending way too much on the mobo and CPU as others have said, unless you have particular needs for those components. Yeah I'd stick with your 2500k, it's a great CPU. You will see probably zero performance increase going to a 4690 or 4790 except with certain CPU-centric software.
Also agreed with the Enthoo Pro recommendation, though I personally used a HAF X for my PC, which I like a lot.
