nothing fancy just need to be able to run
recent games
mostly steam games / poe / d3

More specific use (what games, what programs): Steam games. mainly CS: Go / Path of exile / Diablo 3
Planned time until purchase: asap if between the price range
Do you need an Operating System?: yes
Do you have any specific preferred components?: best for gaming? I guess it dont matter, since price might be tight
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: no
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: no clue on this. My friend will build it for me but the products he was showing me was crazy amount. thought I'd ask here. Id buy the parts and friend will just build it.
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: no

I recommend you to highly consider getting the OS the cheaper way...

There are a lot of users who can guide you through in a manner which doesn't include any major risks.

Change cpu to Pentium or amd equivalent

Build with OS. Add the cheapest cd reader. Theyre usually $15

yeah but he still has taxes/shipping to deal with. He can still drop his gpu down a bit more to save maybe 20-30 more dollars but hes still significantly over budget i would say [because tax/shipping in canada is just a lot]

@ op:
those parts are about what you're looking at! if you can just shave the cost of windows off this, or increase your budget by about 100 dollars, then you would be better off. Alternatively you could look @ used or refurbished parts to help make the cost difference

alternatively, you could use an amd apu instead of a cpu + gpu setup. it better fits your budget but limits you when you want to upgrade.

not worht buying, just work another day or two to save up extra $300+
