Hey there. I need some parts to go with my G3258 Processor, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler and my Thermaltake Commander MS-I Epic Edition Case I have sitting in the corner of my room.

I have an Nvidia 8400 GS I could use as a temp video card until I get more money up to add a video card to the build.

Budget: $400

More specific use (what games, what programs):
I use a POS Dell which I got years ago. Tired of playing low settings on my games.
I play games like Diablo 2, diablo 3, WoW, Sometimes try out random F2P MMO games, occasionally I might play some starcraft or something like that.
If It could Live Stream some games like D2, maybe WoW or D3 without crazy issue that would be nice too but not necessary.

I also tend to Multi-Task a little, like stream music while I play a game and browse the web for character builds and stuff like that.

Planned time until purchase:
I'm looking to buy these parts today.

Do you need an Operating System?:
Nope, I have a copy of Windows 7 already

Do you have any specific preferred components?:
As for the HDD, I don't need a huge drive, something like 250 GB - 500 GB would be fine. Perhaps a smaller SSD just for my windows install and a most played game.

Do you need a sound or wireless card?:
Nope. Stock sound is fine for now.

Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?:
I already have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 for my CPU.

Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?:
I don't need any of these items. have them all as well.

Zip code/location? (Shipping costs):
27948

Get a GTX 970 then and the power supply you will probably need to power it.

/e

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LY6pMp ...changed PSU.

Then when you have another $400 - $500, replace motherboard, CPU and RAM.

The reason: The reason you can't do all the things you want is that the G3258, is a dual core processor. The obvious upgrade would be the CPU, motherboard and RAM, BUT the 8400GS will then be a severe bottle neck.

So, in these cases I always do the vid card and PSU, at one shot, then the mobo, CPU and RAM at another shot. The timing is great for this...cause the DDR4 Ram, CPU's and mobo's are coming out, now...so in about 6-8 months the DDR3 mobo's CPU's and RAM will be a lot cheaper.

I originally had picked out

500 W EVGA PSU
HyperX 8 GB RAM kit
Z87-G41 MOBO
and a 1 TB harddrive to go with this case and CPU.

Im sure that would be fine for the budget, but i'm sure a few things have changed since I last put the list together.

Trust me...do it like this...

1st upgrade = vid card and PSU
2nd upgrade = mobo, CPU and RAM
3rd upgrade = drives, 2nd GTX 970.

I cant exactly upgrade this shitty dell. This is why i am here to see what parts I can budget out so I can start using this G3258 i have sitting in the corner of my room that has never been used before.

Thank you. This makes more sense to me.

Sounds more like what I had planned in my head.

This would make sense to do after I get the pc fully built such as Secksii has thrown together for me.

Thank you for your time putting the list together.
