getting a new computer for gaming and i am wondering if the 6 core processor is worth the extra $$ for gaming or if a quad core will be fine for the next couple years.
so my choice is i7-4790k proc with 8Gb of DDR3-2133
or i7-5820k proc with 6Gb of DDR4-2133
both would have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 - 4GB - EVGA Superclocked graphics card
opinions, and reasons appreciated ty.

honestly all these kids are scrubs
they don't game 100%
if you're a true gamer more cores = more fps = bigger dick = better gaming performance
^24 core 32 gb ddr4, razer headset, razer mouse, razer keyboard...and a bunch of dragon stickers for maximal performance

i5-4690k and you're fine.
If you consider yourself a true enthusiast and are likely to go with a powerful SLI for 4k gaming, you might want to think about socket 2011-3... but even then, the 5820k is not worth its money and crippled by its lack of more PCI-E lanes. 5930k all the way then, because money doesn't matter either
