I have all the pieces to a computer and no idea what i'm doing.
Trying to build it myself and... i fucked up by doing so. lol.

So i'm just going to keep asking questions in this thread and hope people answer me.
I'm looking at the instruction guides but they are too confusing.

1) I have a Asus m5a97 R2.0 mobo, and a Hyper t4 fan.. do i need to take off the preinstalled fan bracket things? from this picture it doesn't look like i need to but i have no fucking idea lol.

Manual is hard to follow. I'm figuring it out though.
Just wanted to do something by myself even though it was my first time, not too good of an idea.

definitely a good idea.
if you got the hyper 212 evo I coulda helped ;)

mmm i read it only fits exhausting out the top, not the back :o
could be wrong tho. means you're stuck mounting it only 1 way if I'm correct.

you don't have to take off the brackets on the mobo.

I did the same thing when I bought all my parts for my pc. I'd never built one before and I thought I could do it, but when all the parts were on the table I just got so confused and overwhelmed, I didn't want to even finish. The main thing you need to do is stay confident. You can do it, I did it with 0 experience and so can you. Watch all the videos you can. And if you have a really techie friend call him up. Outside input is absolutely invaluable. Good luck building :)

got that far lol.
on the manual it doesn't tell me to replace anything, just to attach the retention plate and secure it.

and the mounting plate the cooler comes with it too large to fit into the mounting points on the board.
