i have 2x4gb of corsair ddr3 dominator ram

and i want to get 2 more 4 gig sticks of ram but that ram is hard to find

can i get a different brand of ram and everything will work?

no fg needed

have you tried €bay for the RAM? its no big deal to get used RAM.

so it just needs to be the same mhz speed and ddr type?

nope

just stick to same capacity and speed, if possible same voltage and CAS latency. but mostly just speed/volts/capacity.

none of this is required, just better if you do.

needs to be ddr3 to work.

same speed is preferred, as far as I recall if you have slower ram your faster ram will down clock itself to the slower speed. still works though

yeah forgot to specify that too, needs to be same DDR type.

order from newegg dude, so we can pick you out a 1600MHz 1.65v 8GB set of RAM

Same Speed, Cas Lat, and Timings as the RAM you have. Its just lower voltage.

If you manually set it to 1.65v in the BIOS, all 4 sticks should run at DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24 1.65v
