Trying to decide whether it would be best to go 2x 970 evga ftw SLI or 1x 980 classified and get another 1 later for SLI.
Was thinking about getting the new x99 motherboards with ddr4 ram but low reviews and no refinement.

Missing power supply? Also what do you use the computer for?

Long term SLI 980 better but for me just not worth the extra 600 dollars.

Looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139084 for PSU.
It's a gaming PC.

And for 1080p you won't need more power then sli ftw 970's.

I run regular SLI 970's and can game in 4k pretty solidly. I would probably get 1x GTX 970 ftw and game on it until i needed more power down the road.

Depending on what games you're playing, a single 970 can do that.

The monitor caps at 120 fps though so wouldn't it need a bit more power?
My current monitor is 60 fps.

Really depends on the games your playing. If you really looking for the best experience for gaming and budget isn't a huge deal, should use the 600 dollars your saving on 980's and buy a ROG swift monitor.

/edit

However im pretty confident SLI 970 ftw's will max out pretty much anything even at the fps you want.
