Budget: 300-500, prefer to spend as little as possible, as it's for a 10 year old.
More specific use (what games, what programs): ESO, Goat Simulator (haha), League of Legends, games of that variety will be played on it.
Planned time until purchase: 3 weeks or so, need to have and be ready to build before Christmas.
Do you need an Operating System?: No
Do you have any specific preferred components?: No
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: No
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Stock
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: No
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): 16117

I don't need a case, as I'm building one myself from wood.
I need the basics: Mobo, CPU, GPU, PSU, RAM.
I have a bunch of HDD's lying around, I have a gazillion fans, sata cables, etc.

Give me a few different cheap options if possible, thanks!

Not sure. It's going to be used with some off-brand 32" tv.

If I were to throw my current 560 Ti or my gfs HD 6850 in that build, would it be comparable?
Then I could buy myself a new card.

the 560ti is fairly close compared to the 260x.
I'd drop that in there and get yourself a shiny new one :P

also, do that imo, around same price, extremely close in performance WITH the ability to overclock at some point down the road :)
oc or no oc, the g3258 wins by next to nothing (still wins tho :) )

I haven't even oc'd my own pc and I've had it like 4 years lol. I doubt I'll oc his at all :p thank you for the option though Tom! If I put my 560ti in his. Exclude a gfx card from this build and see what other options we can get for around 200-250?

Also, I'll be needing a new card if I go that route. Not sure of price ranges these days, what could I get that would be an upgrade for me? Would prefer to stick with nvidia if possible.

your 560 is 3-4 generations old.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sHWdmG -- gtx 760 (1 generation behind 970)
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GTB9GX -- gtx 770 (1 generation behind 970)
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LZVRnQ -- gtx 970 (newest, most recently released)
i would like to add that best "value" would be between the 760 and 970 with the prices shown on the link.
all depends on what you wanna spend on yourself ;)

the 200-250 build could be 2 things
Option #1 Overclock potential: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/n8FVbv
Option #2 Non-overclock: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sryMmG

Option #2 offers slightly/hardly noticeable performance gains over option #1 if it is not overclocked :)
