A desktop will always crush a laptop in the same price range. If desktop is an option, that's what I recommend.

Fill this out:
Quote
Budget:
More specific use (what games, what programs):
Planned time until purchase:
Do you need an Operating System?:
Do you have any specific preferred components?:
Do you need a sound or wireless card?:
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?:
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?:
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs):

If you can get Windows 8.1 cheap / free (or Linux) from some source, that would greatly increase your build options in your price range.

When gaming the most important thing is the GPU. It's what does the processing for the graphics and will be the limiting factor to what games your system can handle.

As for the link, all of those laptops (while being great general use laptops) use integrated graphics except the last which uses an 820M, a weak dedicated card. None of those are considered "gaming laptops".

So to reiterate what I said before: If a desktop is an option, a $600 desktop build will perform as well as a $900+ gaming laptop.
