For what it’s worth, I had the same brand of kvm switch (the vga/hdmi version) and it worked decently. I ran dual monitors (both old vga monitors). It worked flawlessly for 2 years, then one of the displays stopped working. I took the opportunity to upgrade my monitors to gaming monitors, and upgrade the kvm switch to a simple dell display port docking station.
When I used the kvm switch, I had one vga monitor plugged directly into the switch, and the other vga monitor connected to a vga-to-hdmi converter, then connected to the kvm switch.
The kvm switch allowed me to toggle between my desktop and my work laptop with the push of a button.
A few things to keep in mind:
1) Converters generally worked, but the fewer converters you have to use the better.
2) I don’t know too much about display quality, refresh rates, hz, etc, but if you have good monitors and a decent graphic card, then this kvm switch may be a bottle-neck (or at least reduce the quality of the image output).
Let me know if you have any questions. GL
