I bought a GE76 Raider MSI laptop from Costco and it works pretty well for what i intended to use it for... league, d2r, programming, wow from time to time, lost ark, etc

wifi seems to be going up and down and not sure if it's just because of my house but everythign works.

laptop: https://www.costco.com/msi-ge76-raider-gaming-laptop---11th-gen-intel-core-i7-11800h---geforce-rtx-3060---144hz-1080p-.product.100763831.html

i got it with that exact deal the 300 off. I had to return it twice before getting the one i have currently, the third one. Not sure if that's common with gaming PCs but it was a red flag.

the screen colors and sharpness i thought would have been better. It's pretty decently designed and i can care less about the RGB colors.

Is there better options out there? I kind of wish the screen was better; it seems kind of dull to me. I'm considering returning it and spending a bit more for possibly better options with equivalent hardware or even better.

what do you think? I also heard that there is some MSI threading problem i think with the screen? IT also runs very hot from what I've seen, i may need to get a laptop cooler.

I can get this for 2199. Is that a fair price? It is worth 920 dollars for the difference? Better GPU, much much better screen, better processor, i think it may be. What are your thoughts?

Looking at the specifications from MSI's site, there are better monitor options than 45% NTSC, but it will require upgrading the GPU too (going above a 3060). There is a better option with this specific model as you can see in the link below. So is it a MSI problem? I don't think so; it's the specific option you picked, 45% NTSC.

Also, I'm not sure if it's me, but that second link to an Asus from NewEgg, its just the logo image. Maybe the link expired or they removed the product/link.

sorry i see what you mean. try this link:

Honestly i think I am just going to return the MSI laptop. It's ok, but they have an LED strip across the front i really can care less about

E: i can get that asus laptop for like $2199. i can't find that laptop anywhere online for a similar price (all around 2800 - 3200, not with the 3080 or more RAM either)

So I am just wondering, for that price, i would be dumb not to do it ? the screen alone is worth the upgrade, better process, and better GPU

With those specifications at $2200 seems like a good deal, when you're comparing it to the NewEgg sticker price of $3026.

https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-zephyrus/2021-rog-zephyrus-s17-series/spec

Looking at Asus's website, the base line model is $2200.

If you're looking for a brighter screen, check out Lenovo Legion 7. They advertise their screens at 400-500 nits brightness.

i am not sure why i didnt even consider going to the manufacturer website. I even googled the model but it only populated for retailers. thanks for all of your help.

This seems like a fairly good deal then. I am also going to check out that laptop you mentioned. thanks!

I'm really not following your logic to be honest, but I hope you can get this laptop or the one you are looking for. It works well for pretty much everything.

The return policy is 90 days at Costco FYI. Why wouldn't I return it? iI's 90 days for a reason... if you aren't satisfyed with a product, do you always just buy a new one? That's horrible practice IMO.

The people who buy refurbished are knowingly buying refurbished, it's usually listed on the product. If this laptops becomes refurbished (which there is nothing wrong with it, just not what I am looking for), someone will get a better deal on the gaming laptop that can use it. Why is that a bad thing?
