you could technically install custom firmware and increase the transmission power but this is not that great of a solution.

you could maybe get a stronger receiver on your computer, otherwise you're going to want new hardware. what hardware do you have now and how far off are you from where you want to be signal wise?

the options are to get a more powerful router, or a dedicated wireless AP and keep your router and connect to that. your answer to the above changes the recommendations. you could go with a mesh network depending, some people start using powerline adapters after learning they exist trying to do this.

Just get a WiFi mesh system and be done with it.

The fact that you're saying "no disc to install" - as if this is the 1990s or early 2000s - means something to your knowledge of computer technology. And to keep this extraordinarily simple, get a WiFi mesh system.

Also to add to it,

I live in a home owned by a caregiving company, so upgrading the wifi and shit isnt in my control, and why im asking for a GOOD wifi adapter,

Also i dont see how you can think i dont have any knowledge cause of asking it to not be a cd-drive installation.

Ok - explain to the rest of us so that we can better provide solutions other than "give me a WiFi signal booster".

Tell me why the fuck you cannot create a second SSID using older routers and running CAT5 so that essentially you could possibly run one DHCP and the rest as bridges/AP? This solution would not require a fucking CD but instead you log into the devices and adjust as needed.

Or...maybe use PoE to another outlet, connect a router to that outlet and run that has the second SSID/DHCP and from there create more bridges/AP.

Can you run a fucking CAT5? Can you access the initial router?

What's the distance you're looking to cover?

Does it need to be the same SSID?

Why can't you use the initial mesh router off of the main router and run the mesh satellites to extend your range?

The networking solutions nowadays for Netgear, Cisco, Linksys, Nokia, etc. don't use a CD. They either use USB or RJ45 or something else to get into the device and configure it.

Here's a YouTube search link to better understand how you can use an old router as a boost. Because we don't know the fucking scenario you're in.

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=old+wifi+router+as+booster

I recall a user the last time someone asked for fucking WiFi signal out in the damn woods and I think I recommended running CAT5 underground in PVC and hang the AP on the tree.

10 fucking years old? And you want to make a post with no other information of your scenario/environment/surrounding so that other folks can better provide help?

10 fucking years old? And you want to say that your only limitation is no CD? You know what the fuck a CD has inside it? Probably an .EXE or .INI or whatever data that can be downloaded from the internet so you don't need a CD.

10 fucking years old? And I gave you a simple solution of using a mesh system that would essentially chain off the main router?

You're (not your) right, I am a fucking dick. I gave you a solution and you said that's not what you're looking for. And somehow like a 10 fucking year old, we have to imagine your scenario/environment/surrounding.

You asked for a fucking fruit, and I gave you an apple, orange, mango, etc.

So how about you provide a bit more fucking insight so that the next person could help you fucking better.
