Hey guys I'll post my specs below, but my pc feels off. Idk if it's outdated or bad or what. But it crashes from time to time, probably once a day playing Valorant, used to crash even when playing WoW.
I play Val on low settings, get around 300fps, just feels like something isn't working correctly. If I have Valorant and one Chrome browser open it'll crash 100%

Specs:
Windows 10 home 64bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-9700k @3.60GHz (8 cores)
Ram: 16GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB Ram

240 Hz monitor

Idk what else you'd need to help me diagnose what could be wrong, I've reformatted and bought faster RAM than what came with the PC.

At this point IDK what else could be wrong

Temps seem pretty good, but I did replace my cpu cooler recently too.

When playing games temps are around 70-80 degrees
30-40 degrees idle or with chrome open.

Idk what it could be tbh!

Thanks for any help in advance

is your machine custom or from a company such as Dell? it may have onboard diagnostics that you can run, but the memtest part can't be trusted most of the time

make a bootable USB off this and let it run overnight: https://www.memtest86.com/

you could download prime95 and see if a blend test crashes your machine.

when you say crash.. freeze? or blue screen of death? what happens. there might be logs.

run furmark to test gpu

are you sure you did a complete OS reinstallation?

Funny, I just went to respond got half way through my message and it crashed again.

So I was saying. It's a prebuilt from ibuypower, was the cheaper option at the time rather then buying all the parts.

I'm not familiar with those apps, and programs but will look into them tonight.

When it does crash, it stutters a bit, then just restarts. Sometimes it'll freeze, but most the time it stutters my game, then restarts.
Rarely it'll blue screen though as well.

It's about 2 years old now. I'm sure I did a full OS install.

It was doing this before I did the OS reinstall as well. Which is why I did it in the first place.

My MOBO doesn't have any other bios to download, so it's up to date. I'll try some of these programs now and run the first one tonight.

Edit: I have two seperate 8gb x2 ram sticks, different companies and speeds, I've tried both and they don't fix the issue.
So I'm almost certain it's not the RAM, thoughts?

prime95 tests CPUs primarily, this is not likely your issue though. blend test incorporates memory.

furmark will test your GPU, which could be the issue here. you could also plug your monitor to the motherboard port and use the iGPU in your processor, do things to make it crash like when you were replying to me at first.

memtest will test the memory of course. it could be your memory, issues with random outcomes with the same variables tend to involve memory issues.

you can also search start for "event viewer" and open that up, checking application and system logs under the windows logs dropdown menu (it's on the left) - use the filter current log options once you're in applications/system and check warning, error, critical to narrow it down a bit. you can post screenshots of errors, one might indicate the failing component.

Okay, I just did the Prime 95 and everything passed so CPU should be fine? 4k passed as well. IDK what that all means tbh.

I did an edit on my last post I'll add it here below.

I'll make sure I have my OS on a boot drive and run the other program tonight and see how that goes any other thoughts?
If I have two seperate types of RAM could they both be bad or what?

worth testing after you try furmark/trying iGPU. it's not likely that both sets of RAM are faulty, but it's not impossible, they're not completely isolated having been used in the same system, likely stored and handled in the same way (with the same mistakes if they happened).. i'm not gonna bet on it though. you should hopefully have tried the other RAM slots.

download your SSD's toolkit, run a diagnostic with it and update firmware

The previous system shutdown at 6:32:12 PM on ‎2/‎1/‎2022 was unexpected.

is what it says, but when I look on system the next error or anything related that you had me checked was at 12:11 pm
and when I check applications 12:10 was when the last error was before the shut down.
So no errors, critical , or warnings before the shutdown itself.

edit : This was the critical error after it restarted

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
