Hello JSP Genius Bar,

I put together a new Pc from the following parts and started it with a USB stick with Windows. Got to the Windows install screen and my monitor suddenly showed no signal.

Have not been able to get signal to show up with either HDMI or DP cables on a Dell UltraSharp U2722DE.

There are no red/white lights on the mobo LEDs.

Played around with keyboard's numlock and it lights up and off as expected, making me think that this is a monitor side issue.

Components:
Ryzen 9 5900x
MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk (newest BIOS properly flashed)
Corsair Vengeance 32GB RAM (2x16)
MSI 3080 OC Ventus
2TB SSD Nvme
Seasonic Prime TX-1000W

Any suggestions?

Are you sure you're plugged into your GPU and not your motherboard?

Remove all peripherals (usbs, second monitors, etc) and ONLY have the usb plugged in. If you already installed Windows and this happened, remove the USB.

Try another monitor (even a TV with an hdmi) to determine if it's the monitor or not.

Yep, I have tried both cables into the GPU. Even rebooted with it plugged into mobo just to double check - same issue.

I have only the monitor cable attached to GPU, mouse and keyboard to USB, and the flash drive to USB (all in the rear panel)

I have yet to install Windows, just got to the media setup screen and monitor signal went out. :(

Don't have another monitor to test with right now, but I have one on the way. Was hoping I didn't have to try that!

Maybe check the seating of your ram and power cables? Make sure your ram is pushed all the way in? (clips on either end of ram should be the same position as the ones around them)

Does it show you a bios screen when you start your pc?

You can try using the integrated one on your motherboard alone to see if that even boots, that would rule out the GPU anyways

Removed everything as you suggested and powered on with just monitor and install media - nothing happened until I hit next to install Windows!!!

(I plugged in just the mouse USB)

As soon as I hit next, monitor lost signal. Going to try to create a new install USB and see if that works!

Make sure you plug it into the motherboards USB slots and not your cases. Maybe your USB header is plugged in incorrectly, or your USB only supports USB 2 and the case ones are typically 3 but very unstable.

Update: Went to BIOS to look around while install media is loading, everything read well. CPU 32 deg, RAM registered all 32GB 2300Mhz (not OC yet), SSD was picked up.

After a minute or two of clicking around - signal to monitor lost again...

Interesting one.. Does your pc power cycle? Maybe your pc is plugged into a power bar instead of a wall? Same one as monitor tripping out? Check to ensure power adapter is firmly plugged in on back of monitor as well (stating the obvious) ha!

My PC is directly plugged into wall outlet and it never trips out. Continuously stays on even after monitor loses signal. Keyboard num lock is responsive even after video signal is lost.

My mobo has 8 pin CPU connector and a 4 pin next to it. I thought that was auxiliary power, do I need to plug that in? Will try this next.

Just because the pc stays on doesn't necessarily mean there's not a power issue, it seems to me like there might be something not plugged in or plugged in the wrong spot.

Looking at your manual, double check these things:

Right out of your manual:
The power is on, but no signal to
monitor
∙ Connect the monitor power cord to a
electrical outlet securely.
∙ Make sure the monitor is turned on.
∙ Select different inputs on the monitor.
∙ If 3 long beeps are heard, remove all
memory modules and try to install only
one memory module in the DIMMA2 slot
first and then restart the computer.
∙ If 1 long 2 short beeps are heard,
remove and reinstall the graphics card
and then restart the computer.
∙ Test with another known working
graphics card

The computer does not boot after
updating the BIOS (Did it work before you updated BIOS?)
∙ Clear the CMOS

My advice to check:
Where your ram is seated: https://i.imgur.com/G9d0J8L.png https://i.imgur.com/q8JAby5.png
CPU Power connectors (psu side), this is easily plugged into the Auxiliary by accident (I've done it myself): https://i.imgur.com/gyJob7E.png
Ensure your GPU is pushed all the way into it's socket (might be easier to un-seat it, pull the tab back, and reseat for the audible click when it locks in)
Ensure your mouse/keyboard are plugged into the top two USB slots on the back of your mobo
For your mobo power you're mentioning, are you talking about this photo? https://i.imgur.com/cQgxeQq.png
If you are, I also use a 5900x and I don't use the extra 4 pins to the right. But you'll want to make sure your 8 pin is plugged in on the left one.
Make sure your fans aren't plugged into a RGB socket and that your CPU fan is in the dedicated CPU fan connector (if no cpu fan is detected can power it off)
