but I don't have a displayport on my laptop (1 month old lenovo legion)
I'm currently using the usb-C ports but would it be better to use some displayport -> usb C cable or result would be the same?

are you saying that you currently have a USB-C to DisplayPort cable and you're using your monitor on it? that's fine if so, that should have a direct link with your GPU and is fine to do.

currently usb-C monitor to usb-C laptop, would displayport monitor to usb-C laptop have the same output results ?
