Hello!
I have a pretty decent pc and I have noticed that some of USB ports are not working/giving out way less power than they should be.
Is there any issue to fix that and get more power into them?

Hi Moon!

If on MacOS, simply reset your SMC.

If on windows, try the steps below

Check the device manager (Windows). There are two things you can do with the device manager in Windows to get USB ports working again.

Scan for hardware changes by right-clicking the name of your computer, and then clicking on scan for hardware changes. When the scan to complete and then check your USB device to see if it works.

Another option is to disable and re-enable the USB controller. In the device manager, click the arrow next to the little USB cable so that it points down instead of to the right. Right-click on the first USB controller in the list and select Uninstall device. Repeat for each USB controller you find.

Turn your computer off and then back on again. Windows will automatically reinstall the USB controllers, so check to see if your device works.

Furthermore, make sure theres no debris in the usb-port.

Also, how old is your PC? and by power, can you clarify what that means? Like are you charging something through that usb port and your getting less voltages?

Did most of the steps and sadly they didn't work.
My pc is around 2,5 years old.
By power I mean that for example my DJ Console doesnt work in 90% of usb ports, only in 2 of them and my mouse would work in every single one, but then my keyboard would work in every single one but in some of them it would keep connecting/disconnecting or some features wouldnt work.

when you plug something in, do you notice and loose connections?

Do you have an extra keyboard you can try plugging into the ports? See if they work in every port just like your mouse.

Yeah I tested with many devices, seems like those devices that require low amount of energy work in the most ports(3 doesnt work at all) and those with higher need of energy supply (like dj console, studio mic etc) only work in 2 out of 10 ports

I would recommend blowing compressed air through the ports and trying again.

If that fails, I hate to say it, but you might have to order a new motherboard.

I recommend contacting the manufacture first to see if there are any recalls involving this particular issue, they might send you out a replacement free of charge.
