Looking into external gpus but theres so much contradicting reviews, on the same products even..

Im running a lenovo yoga 14s its got an i7 1165g7 with 16gb of ram, and an iris xe integrated graphics (Running d2res no problem just some graphic spiking on worldstone chamber by the stone)

Will be upgrading to 32gb ram before i grab a external gpu, but im not sure if theyre worth the investment.. I figure why build a new pc when I have a pretty decent one I can take with me wherever I go, so Im not really interested in building a desktop, unless the inflation on egpu is so high i can build the same pc(+gpu) with same specs for the same price.

Why would I buy another laptop if I already have one? I'm not looking to buy another laptop I'm looking to add to my existing, which is the point of this post... Lemme know if you have experience with egpu, not gaming laptops

Well, eGPU enclosures are approx. $500, then you have to add in the cost of the GPU itself... and they've never really "made it" in the hardware world... after 15 years or so.
Plus they're big and heavy (full power supply inside). For the cost... might as well just get a gaming laptop, with a decent discrete video card.

Why do you think the other user recommended to get a gaming laptop?

thats so wild... SO im better off selling my laptop and putting the funds from that, and the 4-500 i wouldve spent on BOTH(gpu+enclosure) and get a gaming pc..

I found a asus ROG for 1200, i figure i can get 600-800 for this and be able to afford that.

Yeah, that's why I suggested the gaming laptop. The enclosure and the vid card would cost more than a gaming laptop, and you'd have to lug it around as well.
