With your budget and requirements, I’d just look for the best deal available cause once you’ve bought it, that pretty much it.. until that one is outdated or you need to upgrade. All the laptops are gonna be almost the same at that price. Wether you like amd or intel. Brand of the laptops are mostly irrelevant until you are spending like 2k+.

The only spec she really cares about is Hard drive space from what I can see most laptops dont have high capacity anymore since they are ssd until you go way above 1k so she will prob get him a 1tb - 2tb portable for all his stuff.

She is more so worried about it burning out on him in less then a year or 2 so wondering if anyone has any luck with different brands. Ive personally had acer, gateway, lenovo, and dell an i burnt them out playing wow and d3 the acer lasted the longest and it was the weakest of the laptops where the gateway was built for higher end gaming but had massive over heating issues to the point it would burn your hands after about an hour of play.

so far I have found these 2 also she works at walmart an gets 20% off only reason why the nitro falls into her budget. Both of these are pretty much the same one is intel other is amd i have a feeling the intel one may be a little better since intel tends to run cooler personally i prefer amd though wondering how good msi is for cooling

I'm like 90% sure that the Intel will run hotter since it'll be pushed more. Generally speaking when it comes to mobile CPU, Intel will use more power and provide a bit more speed than their AMD counterparts. AMD will use less power in order to be more efficient and long lasting (relying on the battery). Also, I wouldn't focus on either brand (Intel vs AMD) if they're on the same level, i5 10500H vs Ryzen 5 4600H.

That said, I don't like either option because I see 8GB RAM on both. I recommend 16GB. I didn't look if you can upgrade their RAM (because most laptops nowadays have RAM soldered in), but if these can be upgraded, then buy the 8GB.

Whichever you get, I would make sure it has 16GB RAM, minimum.

I would seriously consider 16GB.
You don't have to buy from Newegg. That was just a place to get a good... list.

Try searching for those make and models... elsewhere.
