Noticed my old RAM was bottlenecking my system (not enough) so I went and bought 32GB (16 16) 3200 MHz Corsair Vengeance Pro sticks.

Build
AMD Ryzen 7 1700
RAM mentioned above
Crosshair VI Hero
Geforce GTX 1060 6GB
M2 1TB 980 PRO

Updated everything
Enabled DOCP in Bios (same as XMP but for this brand of the motherboard)
Put the RAM at 3200 MHz in the Bios as well

THE PROBLEM

Windows control manager, CPU-Z and Speecy ARE ALL saying the RAM is only at 1064 MHz.

Does anyone have some cheat code or am I missing something?!

40fg to whoever find a solution for me.

didnt look into it much but i dont think ur processor supports that ram speed and you might need to oc the cpu or something.

The maximum RAM that CPU supports is DDR4 - 2666 Mhz. The motherboard will support up to 3200Mhz.
CPU-Z and Speccy only show 1/2 the speed the RAM is running at. So approx. 1064 is really running at 2133 Mhz.

To get 3200 Mhz from the RAM you installed, you will probably have to disable DOCP, and set the RAM manually.

In CPU-Z you want to look at the SPD tab, and the RAM frequency, timings and voltage in the far right column.
That will be your guide for manually setting the RAM... in the BIOS.

For example, here is my system and CPU-Z screenshot...

Windows 10 Home (21H1) x64

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
ASUS Pro WS X570-ACE (3302 BIOS)
EVGA 08G-P4-2171-KR Geforce RTX 2070 8GB 256-bit GDDR6
G.Skill Trident Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 (F4-3200C14D-16GTZKW)

And in addition to setting the DRAM Frequency at 3200Mhz in the BIOS, I also had to set these timings and voltages...

Well I downloaded the overclock software from AMD for my processor and it is working 100% stable...

But when you say your "system" is bottlenecking making no sense. Which part? Yea my GPU is. But im not paying 3x 5x 6x 10x for a new GFX card.

Totally get the 1/2 stuff. I was able to overclock it via Ryzen software - and it works - and tis stable! Now am at 3.9 GHz on my proc and 1600 on my Ram (x2) so 3200... The bios on this board is shit. Thankfully AMD has a software that helps with the awful bios they supply!
