So I built a new pc for my brother with the exact same parts as mine.
About a week after his comp just shows no signs of power. We have a led that normally stays in when shutdown and it was dead.

Tested power supply it’s fine.

So today same thing happens to mine.
Test power supply everything s fine.

Stumbled upon a google article to try removing the CMOS and replacing it and tons of people having luck with that working.

So that’s exactly what I did and both pc boot just fine now?

From my understanding cmos was to keep date and time and help with power outages and what not.

Why would this effect the pc from booting? Or any other thoughts on what happened here?
