I am a professional poker player, and to improve my play I use "solvers" that find optimal solutions for specific situations. They are great for very specific situations, however as things get more complex the longer they take to run and more intensive they are. By my understanding they are similar to chess engines in the way the operate, extremely ram intensive but unsure if cpu strength is also part of problem? Kinda a noob
I am not super in the know when it comes to how to differentiate hardware.

I currently am running a Ryzen 9 5900X with 128 gb g.skill ripgaw ddr4 3600 ram and that just isn't nearly enough.

Again, for the simpler situations it can run a simulation in a minute or so however for the more complex ones it can run hours-indefinitely.

There are some people who rent virtual PCs for this stuff however noone really wants to give away their info.

I am contemplating buying or building a supercomputer/server. Again I am a noob and don't know what would be recommended. I am looking to get something absurd that is overkill. Something like 1-2tb ram and I whatever best CPU can get.
However when I'm looking at server mass ram it's ddr4 2000-2600 compared to the 3600 I have. Is this an issue or can you point me in something that would work. I looked into titan computers at buying prebuilt buy with all the options to customize was unsure where to begin
Any help\thoughts/suggestions would greatly be appreciated. I have built many of my own personal PCs so as long as something like this wouldn't be too much different I could also build my own.

Also money really isn't a factor if can stay under 50-70k. Unsure what realm it's going to run. Some of the prebuilt stuff I saw on Titan was 20-40k

you will prolly want 4 gpus i recommend getting the rtx quadro 8000 48gb x4 run you about 16-18k

so that takes care if your processor and graphics cards about 20-22k

What software are you running? Is there a core limit?

Server memory is typically slower freq and ECC as to provide stability and accuracy

You don’t need to overpay for that memory

Piosolver
And monkersolver

Monkersolver is one that causes some time problems as is more complex. Unsure if core limit.

Was unsure gpus were part of problem. The info that I did get was basically all about CPU and RAM.

From the sounds of it you’re not terribly far off of what you need already, I think the main thing you can add to your system to make these calculations easier is more cpu cores

Look at AMD as intel has much lower core counts and wouldn’t be faster than what you have already

Like user_selected mentioned, threadripper or epyc chips etc have large numbers of cores, this is what you need

Gpus are irrelevant

So don't think adding more ram would be useful?

I think the reason why some folks have not recommended more RAM is because...probably...we believe the computing tasks you're running is mostly calculations and variations of such calculations or we'll call it as probability. This is typically a CPU intensive action/task. That's why folks are recommending the AMD Threadripper.

Of course, the AMD Threadripper will probably demand more RAM to go with it, but 128GB could be enough already. I think we're all saying start with the CPU first.

Reasonable. Will try to get one and see what happens. Random aside, is there anyway to run duo cpu on same system?
