The nomenclature for the Intel CPUs is like this XXYZZ. Where XX represents the generation, Y is the line up, and ZZ are the whatever additional crap they want to include.
So if we take 11600, it's 11th generation and i5 (even though it says 6, it's like rounded down to 5).
If we take 11700, it's 11th generation and i7.
Where is 12th gen release? Did you mean the news break out for the 12th gen or did you mean release as 12th gen is available for purchase? Because right now the latest reports are showing 12th gen available/release for Q4 2021.
oh you didn't hear intel wants to go back to 45nm for 12th gen, but they'll use a '7nm design' and put it on a 4'x6' sheet of silicon, draws 12,000w but it'll edge out the 5800x
