Hello

I have started doing freelance captioning in my freetime to make some extra money. I type 120 wpm so I'm making about $12 an hour doing basic captions on Rev. I don't see why I couldn't get my work flow optimized and easily double that. Only been at it a week and making decent money considering the minimal effort.

So does anybody have a suggestion for a good mechanical keyboard, mouse, computer chair and noise-cancelling headphones?

My current... all of these... are pretty old and if I'd like to use my first couple checks to pay for some replacements.

Willing to spend ~150 on keyboard and mouse, a few hundred on a chair, and maybe 100-200 on headphones if they warrant it.

Comfort is king in this, and it should be good for gaming as well, but I don't need anything fancy for that. I currently have a fancy mechanical keyboard from Razer around 2012 with a bunch of extra function buttons I've never mapped.

I work from home since the pandemic started, and I'm mostly on my ass, in front of a computer. I went out and purchased a Herman Miller Aeron chair. It's expensive brand new, but I've heard you can find some businesses that are liquidating or selling their assets, for a few hundred.

For my mouse, I've have stuck with the Logitech G502 wired for at least 5 years.

I don't have recommendations for a keyboard, since I'm a tenkeyless person. I think we're a rare breed of folks who like these keyboard format. I also don't have any recommendation for headphones because I use the cheapest Bluetooth headset I found from Amazon.
