Hey dudes, been a while since I've been in here - hope everyone is doing well

My neighbor is in her 60's and her 12 yr old laptop just crapped out. I reset Windows and had it boot again but recommended she buy something a little newer as it'll likely happen again soon. Wondering what the best cheap portable option is for web-browsing, checking e-mails and storing pictures

Whatever's on sale at you're local Beast Buy or Wally World with an SSD.

Thinkpad t430 is amazing, really any of the older ones

Picked one up with 8GB ddr3, 1tb hdd, i5
130.00 after taxes

Can upgrade to a ssd and keep the internal hdd also bought an optical drive ssd holder for like 5.00 to install the os on and have the 1tb for storage

Pretty cheap to get replacement parts or change keyboard style depending on what kind of key style you prefer, can also upgrade to backlit keyboards. The display sucks for gaming and stuff but nice indescribable little laptops for general use
