This is my current setup:
CPU: i7 6700k
Motherboard: MSI Z170A MS-7977
RAM: 32GB DDR4 1066
GPU: ASUS 1080GTX
I only play basic games like Diablo 2, Counterstrike, Leauge of legends, etc. I don't play demanding games. However, I have a super widescreen monitor with a resolution of 3440x1440.
I don't like to play games full screen because it's too big, so I play things on windowed mode. The problem is when I play on windows mode, I do other things on the background like
playing music, streaming Netflix, Facebook, etc. Now what I want to do is get 2 extra monitors and have a triple screen setup. What I would like to accomplish is basically have something streaming on my other monitor like Netflix, and gaming on my primary monitor on windowed mode, and have Facebook open or discord on the other monitor. I don't think ill be playing heavy graphics demanding game but, I'm afraid if I multi-task it may start lagging things especially with two extra monitors.
Also, I have been trying to find a solution for this setup: How can I play XBOX 1/PS4 on MY PC Screen (not just plugging it straight to the monitors HDMI?) I believe I have to purchase a capture card BUT I do not want any of the recording or streaming features. I just want to be able to have a windowed screen that I can use to play my gaming consoles. The problem with the capture cards is that they are charging so much because of streaming and recording feature. I just want something that's a "pass-through".
My idea is while I'm playing my PC game on my primary monitor, I can have a windowed software capturing the input of the HDMI coming from the game console. This way I can go back and forth playing my PC, or playing path of exile and watching Netflix or discord, etc.
Now, I'm thinking of either getting another 1080 and run SLI since I have a 1k watt power supply, or if one 1080 is sufficient, I can just upgrade the motherboard and CPU with something that has more cores like the AMD series? I heard SLI not worth the investment and I just may have to upgrade to 2080.
