long story short I got an email the otherday in my junk mail and in the subject line was my OTHER EMAIL account and password and the email was basically extorting me to send money here blah blah

and today my amazon mail got hacked
so I called amazon and got that figured out

I just have a few questions
what should I do in terms of making sure that any other data I have hasn't bene compermised,
how can I find the root cause of getting potentially hacked?

Format your pc if your really concerned then change all your online account passwords to new ones from a now secure device.
Focus on length more then complexity... IG: a password of "r0b2&4" < "robtwoandfour1". Aim for 16 digits if you can.

Probably got your info from a public dump and your info was/has been leaked for time.

this email is a solid 15+ years old

is it possible to change everything to a new email?
would this help my situation?

Not if your pc is compromised and/or your info stays the same.
EG: using same passwords.

Change your account name... Vuitton is too tempting a target. :D
