This is my system, and I'm considering getting a new vid card... namely the RTX 2060 Super.
I just got off the phone with EVGA and with ASUS, and both companies, arent' sure, but advised me I may have issues with running a 2060 Super in my PCI-E 2.0 motherboard.
They say it's not a slot issue, but rather a possible video card control issue.

Does anyone know for certain if an RTX 2060 Super will work with a AMD FX-8350 motherboard? I have the latest motherboard BIOS. 8-5-2016 is the motherboard BIOS release date.

Just use your second gpu in sli... I mean you bought two of everything so you wouldn't need to upgrade.

Neither ASUS or EVGA seemed to be... sure. ASUS tech support was REALLY not sure, aka, low level tech support. EVGA, premium tech support was like... maybe, maybe not. Like he said, the slot itself is compatible, but he wasn't sure about the PCI-E 2.0 slot being able to fully control the RTX 2060. He couldn't seem to get any more... exacting in his answers.

/ee In the vid card dept... I have multiple vid cards but none are the same model..

Titan, 780 Ti, 680, 580, etc... also, I'm not particularly fond of anything other than single vid card solutions.

Don't you not even game? Why blow money on a vid card?

I have to do upgrades 1/2 at a time. This summer vid card... next summer CPU, mobo, and RAM.
Kinda wanna see Intel's response to Ryzen.

Intel won't have a good response to amd's current chips, but wait as yupitsmeh said if you think otherwise.
20 series wasn't as huge of a leap as 10 series was. I don't expect much for 30 series either tbh.

Compared to the 780 Ti, the 2060 super is a big leap. Then next summer, I'll grab the other half of the upgrade.
The only question was, would the 2060 function on that old of a motherboard. EVGA tech support had said they weren't positive, so I posted here and on the Geforce forums.
Apparently the 2000 series will work fine on my motherboard.
