My brother's computer is fucked I don't even know how to troubleshoot it. At this point I'm thinking the motherboard is failling.

It doesn't recognize hard drives correctly and can't install windows on any drives in the computer. Shows a 500gb samsung brand new as 310 gb available space.

I take the same drive in my computer and it recongizes all the 500gb.

Now, I installed windows 10 on the ssd 500gb, works on my computer. When I put same drive in my brother's computer, it detects it at 320gb but doesnt see windows. Cant boot in his computer.

Any clues on what this could be? I'm trying to fix it for him, im thinking I have to change motherboards but don't want him tonpay for nothing since I made him buy a new ssd.

The cables?

Changed sata cables for the disk with the good ones and still doesnt read the disks. Are you talking about motherboard cable? I unplugged and retested with a diff sata cable and same issue. Wierd as fuck spent to mamy hours on it lol

no i was referring to the sata cables, last hope is to flash bios imo.

Yeah I figured, last thing I had to do. But it doesn't look good. One ssd was completely fried in his computer overnight.

Hopefully flash bios will work if not ill tell him to get motherboard
