Looking to get the 600mps deal and want to buy my own gear to avoid the rental charge, can you suggest me a modem/router?

Arris surfboard are imo the best modems. Idr the exact model number but they have one in the 600 to 800mbit range.

Router people have their own opinions on, but i like my netgear nighthawk.
