First of all, I am using windows 7.
So I am trying to get a TAP adapter to work with a specific program. This program started having issues after the whole ethernet port thing... and since then I have not gotten this to work. The program keeps saying the TAP adapter needs to be installed.
I have installed this in safe mode with networking, disabled antivirus to install it, removed the drivers from device manager and then reinstalled a few different versions. And nothing has worked.
The only thing that seemed to work was when I booted windows with driver enforcement signature as off by tapping F8 several times while booting up my pc. But supposedly after installing programs and the rebooting, the programs should work fine. But the program only worked when I have the windows driver enforcement signature disabled.
I doubt there's a way to only disable windows driver enforcement signature for the specific program in a permanent way?
The only other thing I may have left to do is system recovery. But I really really don't want to go that route...
