Im looking for a way to have access to my hard drive of movies on my tv. i found this video, and it seems to be what im looking for. but im not looking to stream them. does anyone know if i could just plug in an external hard drive to this and play them straight from it?

what would that involve? it sounds like you can play stuff from an sd card, so id imagine a usb drive wouldnt be any different?

Would work fine, I use OSMC on my pi, Plays movies fine off usb/usb ssd.
