Hi, I've been out of the PC building 'phase' for a long time now and I have no idea what's compatible with anything anymore. I'm looking to do some budget upgrades to my tower and well, I need some help / advice.

https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16883272178?Item=N82E16883272178&Tpk=N82E16883272178

Above is my current rig and I was looking at throwing this hard drive https://www.newegg.com/samsung-860-evo-series-1tb/p/N82E16820147673 at it as well as new ram sticks https://www.newegg.com/corsair-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820233852. My concern is I don't recall if DDR4 will work with my current setup or if I'm limited to DDR3. I would love to upgrade the graphics and processor but that's just too far out of my budget range for now.

I mostly play Diablo 2 / 3 and Monster Hunter World lately if that's any help...

Anyway, any advice is much appreciated.

With that build... you would be able to use only DDR3 RAM.

That's what I was thinking, I couldn't remember with compatibility or not. Thank you for the input.

Any recommendations as far as the hardware or is what I have linked above pretty reputable products?

https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-240-pin-ddr3-sdram/p/N82E16820231489 - DDR3 RAM since above was DDR4.

I appreciate your opinion but please don't bash this thread. I had a lot of financial issues and this pre-built tower was all that I could afford at the time. I would have loved to have built one but as I said, it just wasn't in the cards for me.

Thank you for all the help. I've been so far out of this for so long...I have to re-teach myself the basics.
