Hello guys!

I'm about to upgrade my SSD to a larger one, I would need about 500 gb as a regular disk and 500 gb as a backup disk.

As I have quite a lot of important files on my computer it is important that the harddisk doesn't crash. That is why I am asking you guys if you have some good ideas about what to look at in an SSD ?

Also, what brands should I go for / stay away from?

Will run Windows 10 + VeraCrypt

Thanks in advance :)

Also: could anyone advice some store in EU that sells them to a nice pricetag? :)

Intel and HP enterprise or non-enterprise? :)

And some cheap disk as backup, uh?

Added a poll for this!

The most important feature for the SSD is that it is very sustainable and reliable.

Thanks for the responses so far :)

I bought a Crucial MX300 750GB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive - CT750MX300SSD1 years ago I wana say back in 2012 still runs perfectly to this day I even went out an bought another but went with a Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD - CT1000MX500SSD1 ark is getting to big with all the mods and xpacs lol

as for a backup drive are you doing like automatic daily, weekly or monthly back ups, just raises concerns if your going to use a SSD . If your going to constantly be writing data you will want to look into how many write cycles the drive has but i would recommend using a mechanical drive like a WD Black or Iron Wolf if the files are super important you could always go with google drive or some kind of cloud drive as well.

Interesting! Mechanical drives better for backups: I had no idea about that. :O

The files aren't SUPER SUPER important, but I would be quite sweaty if I lost them ^^ Also I might need access to the files while being offline, so a cloud drive wouldn't be very helpful for me.

I will definitely look into write-cycles, this is something I haven't even thought about!

Thanks a lot for your post Derek, helpful and informative :)
