I am not sure why but when you turn this monitor to 144Hz, there's a noticeable difference in color shift and clearity.

some 1440p and 4k monitors is overclocked to 144hz or even 165hz, but they are actually native 120hz
will take some of the picture quality away for higher hz, will be more noticeable in text and pictures but not that much in games..
or is this the dp 1.2 thing? saw u had another problem aswell
-
edit: looked up ur monitor, seems to be native 144hz, not OC
so problem might be DP 1.2 since its actually close to 4k res 144hz, might be to much bandwidth for dp 1.2

Yes. Native 144. I updated the firmware to 1.4 but who knows?

u cant update the firmware on a cable or a port bro =)

lmao didn't think I could. I read that shit wrong the other day. lawl
https://www.nvidia.com/object/nv-uefi-update-x64.html
It was a firmware update tool for display port 1.3 and 1.4 monitors.
A new GPU is next on the list.
https://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-970/specifications
Standard Display Connectors: Dual Link DVI-I, HDMI 2.0, 3x
DisplayPort 1.2
So the 970 is DP 1.2 which would explain why the monitor looks different.

yea seems the dp 1.2 is years older and does not have the same bandwidth
but the 970 has hdmi 2.0? hmm but that might not even be good enough actually..
