Howdy all, I'm contemplating an upgrade on a gaming laptop as newer AAA games have been starting to need to lower graphics to med or lower.

My current laptop is a SAGER NP9150 / CLEVO P150EM bought in 2013 from xoticpc with these specs:

3rd Generation Intel® Ivy Bridge Core™ i7-3630Q
nVidia GeForce GTX 680M 4,096MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11
16GB - DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (2 SODIMMS)
750GB 7200RPM - This crapped out some time ago, upgraded to a 500GB SSD

Tbh I'm only posting because this sale popped up on my Google feed and I wanted to know if this was a good price/worthy upgrade from my current.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834155078

GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB GDDR6
Intel Core i7 8th Gen 8750H (2.20 GHz)
16 GB Memory 1 TB HDD 128 GB NVMe SSD

Despite the 20% off sale, it's listed as $1399 at xoticpc but does seem to be 1500-1600 everywhere else. Is this a good laptop for the price? I'd be looking around the $1,500 mark so if there's any that you'd consider better, feel free to point them out. Much appreciated!

Thanks for your input. Just out of curiosity though, what makes that one better? Other than the SSD and monitor, the specs seem the same?

wtf dudes looking for a deal and you link him a 600$+ more laptop???? Not even in his budget after rebate...
120 vs 144hz is nothing.... 128gb ssd vs 256 are you serious? just buy a 500+ for 100$ separately.

Fuck me, @op your linked one is just fine. Just buy a separate ssd like I said above for 100$ and put it in urself.
its 1,329 then 1,229 after rebate btw on newegg, why use xoticpc?

i wanted to know why he thought the one he linked was a better laptop to get as the 2 different specs didn't seem worth the price hike.

I'd be willing to pay a higher price (around 1500) if the laptop was that much better, like a cpu or gpu upgrade. I wasn't going to use xoticpc, i just wanted to browse around and make sure that the original price was actually 1500 everywhere else. Otherwise, it's not much of a sale.

check out the one listed at 1499. There is a mothers day coupon MAYBUYMORE for an additional 10% off . Plus is you use ebates, you can get 15% cash back.

8750 cpu
144hz monitor with gsync
full laptop 2060
256 SSD with 1 TB HDD
16 gig 2666 ram

If all goes well with the cashback you would get it for ~$1147
If by some rare chance you dont get the cash back, it is still $1350
