after almost 8 years my current pc is finally giving up on me.

my current guy that builds my pcs is to busy to build anything for about the next year or so.

if anyone knows anyone in the Chicago land area that builds custom water cooled pcs send their info over!

if I can't find anyone near me how bad am I getting ripped off if I just buy this? my budget is max 4-5000 us

Very expensive not to have a 2080 ti. Are you wanting hard lines bent?

Also most the cost is coming mostly from that case.

I'd recommend against it.

Find a local builder and tell them what you want.

You really only need to spend 1500-2000 on pretty damn nice custom build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9Qxqtg
2 x Crucial MX500's in Raid 0 config or 4 x in Raid 10 config. (Mobo supports both)

I would spend the extra 2-3k on a nice 4k 144hz monitor, new kb+m+headset, maybe external surround sound w/e floats your boat.

1080 ti > 2080 ti because they cost half as much, have 20-25% less game FPS, and still support ray tracing. And if you like, you can buy two 1080 ti's and put them in SLI format for the same price as one 2080 ti.

SLI is going away as far as support for games go and at that point you're barely out pacing a 2080 ti with a lot more heat and power usage..

Select your hardware, then for your custom loop use this...

https://www.ekwb.com/solutions/custom-loop/

Afterwards get a local shop to build it for like 100-200$.
z97 can also help you configure a decent loop (part wise) if you don't want to pay the premium on the EK tool.

1080ti "supports" ray tracing but doesnt have the RT cores to actually do it efficiently. Gaming with ray tracing on any non rtx card would be a joke.
