My desktop seems to have lost video. I tried onboard and with the gpu plugged in. The pc seems to power up, but none of the 5 monitors and TVs I plugged in work. Could it be a bad mobo?

I would try re-seating the RAM first.

And if you used the same cable to check all the monitors...try a different one.

Yep I took out the ram and battery and it’s been fine since then!

So this computer is actually my dads. I built it 8 years ago. It’s started to slow down a bit. Can I drop a new mobo cpu ram in there and it be like new? He doesn’t game so I’m sure the gpu is fine

...get the FREE version from either link listed.
...Speccy is a really nice system hardware/temperature, information Utility.
...simply install it...and run the program...then post a screen shot of the main page of the program, when posting a problem/question on these forums.

shoot i already gave the computer back to him lol. it currently has an i5 2500k and some random combo mobo, 16gb ddr3 sniper something, radeon 6870, a nice modular psu that seems fine.

CPU etc., is still OK. Maybe overclock it a bit and have him get a more modern vid card.

a video card would make stuff load faster? i figured the processor was burnt up or something by now
