So i'm looking into buying a mic for talking on discord etc while gaming.

I want a mic that will have a way to ignore background noise if at all possible.
I understand very little about mics and just need advice.

Looking at at2035 atm. Any suggestions?
I have little kiddos and typically noise such as a tv on in the background.

That's the situation i'm in.

Budget? Approx 200 USD

Ty, so condenser is out of the question - Was told this by a buddy who also doesn't know a whole lot.. but I guess he knew a decent amount.

Any suggestions on what dynamic mic?

Shure sm58/57 or Audio-Technica ATR2100 or xm8500

U will need to buy small mic stand, XLR cable, and audio interface separately. If you shd all fit under 200

Ended up going with the AT 2035 - Condenser mic but it's fantastic and hasnt been an issue with background noise and low gain with the mic sort of close approx under 8-10 inches away.

Dynamic mic I also purchased the Shure sm58, thanks for that recommendation Secksii, it's a great mic and I use it in super rough background noise situations.
Overall happy with what I ended up with and thanks to everyone who posted.

Those looking at Blue Yeti - The mic works very well and has great quality but the gain on it just doesnt work as well like the at2035 with the audio interface. So if you have background noise, ignore that yeti unless you plan on using programs etc.

Yeti should just plug directly into the PC via USB not an interface. And yea, It picks up HORRID noise with the stock base, Works quite well with an arm though.
