GPU wont stay at peak clocks.

It keeps climbing to it's normal peak speed of 1300+mhz then dropping hard down to like 632 then going back up.

Based on this graph, any of you wizards have an idea what might be going wrong?



For reference I've already tried:
Multiple drivers, including a clean wipe with DDU
Re-Flashing the Vbios.

Testing my 1080 in the same rig and it ran fine, so it's totes the card.

Sounds like thermal throttling. How are your temps? Is it under warranty? If not maybe reapply thermal and test again.

Never goes above 60c

0 fan speed but gpu load 96% and high gpu clock, but 54c?

are your fans not turning on at all or what?

It's a Gigabyte G1 Gaming so it's an extra long boy with a ton of heat pipes. Might have a zero fan mode till 60C or something

Check with hwinfo to make sure it's not software bug.

What Should I check in HWinfo, the clock speed?

In game I can stare at a wall where normally I would have a fixed fps of say 200. The card will go 200, 180, 140,100, 60 100, 140, 180, 200 like the graph.


/E Im gonna take the radiator out of my Mini ITX build so the card will fit and see if it's some weird issue related to the other machine.
