Multiple questions for you guys.

Laptop is an Asus UX305UAB zenbook. i7 core

About 6 months ago my laptop started having problems where the mouse would just stop working and instantly be fixed by restarting the laptop. So that's problem number one which I've actually learned to live with and isn't the end of the world especially since when I emailed asus they said it would be 500-600 to repair and I'd rather just buy a new laptop at that point.

Recently though my micro hdmi port stopped working and I think it's because my cord was in it and someone walked into the cord, jerking it out and it looks like a piece of the port chipped off.

Question 1

Is it possible to fix the port? I feel like it's not.

Question 2

If it can't be fixed is there any way around this problem or no?

Question 3

With both of these problems is there any way that I can somehow sell this laptop for any money to get a new one? And if so how?

I know you guys are pretty smart with computers so I'd figured I would ask here even though my google searches did not seem very promising

Port can possibly be fixed, depends on if the PCB was damaged.

Workaround would be USB to HDMI adapter.

A friend just looked at it and said that one of the gold prongs was popped up on the port and just needs to be pressed back down. No idea how true this is

I do have a USB-C and found that I could do the USB to HDMI if necessary.

Bought a USB-C to hdmi cord and it doesn’t work on my laptop. I don’t think it’s compatible somehow as I get a pop up saying that it doesn’t recognize the cord.

Any other suggestions?

Hey what adapter did you buy?
What operating system do you have?

Might nees to install drivers for it in order for it to be recognized
