Looking for 13-17" screen
Touchscreen preferred but not required
1tb hd or 256gb ssd
gaming occasionally but not the main purpose

$600-$700 hardcap (really prefers $600)
This laptop is for school work mainly, but my aunt wants to make sure she gets him one that will last more then a year
He wont be doing video editing etc.

Personally, I would look for a minimum of 8GB RAM, and a 256GB SSD or even larger SSHD.
