Laptop 1 Dell latitude e6400

Died on game slapped my lid down it made a funny beep then when I turned it on seen these…

I tried asking a few hobby repairists but they just say its broken and theyll buy them so I feel like they just wanna rip me off

Well the first one does sound like a dead hard drive. Just replace the hard drive, install Windows and drivers etc.

The 2nd one just sound like you bumped the cable(s) going to the hard drive.

Im gonna have someone look at them both and see if they can fix em, i wonder why the hard drive would be dead on the dell though? all i did was slap it?

Hard drives can just... die. Inside a 1TB hard drive for example is 3 or 5 platters that spin at 7200 rpm with little to no tolerance. Sooner or later they all die.
That's one of the reasons they started making solid state drives (SSDs). No moving parts.


/e It could also just be loose cable(s) in both. For w/e reason, the operating system drive(s) are not being detected.
