Hello, I recently bought new headphones cause I couldnt hear people across many different games and also on Discord/teamspeak. But that didnt help. It started a while back after i updated to windows 10 so It might be that I need to reinstall my OS to fix some audio system file issue. But i reallyyy don't want to do that and hope to just do some quick stuff and have it going in 15 minutes.

so just to recap:
Its not a headphone issue as its happened on both that I bought
Happening on multiple games/ discord etc
Must be something with my system

Right click the sound icon on the right side of the taskbar, select playback devices, and make sure your headphones are set as the default. The next tab over you can go the same for the mic. Also, if plugged into the front of the case, double check you have your front panel I/O hooked up properly.

When you're in discord, is your mic recognized or is there a pop-up that says no mic detected?

When you open playback settings, does any sound register on the meter when you have something going?

TY all but all i had to do was search "Microphone privacy settings" and allow apps to be able to access my mic (games/discord etc) this was a total b.s move on windows part for doing this to me when i updated it.

Interesting, I've never had a problem with that in discord, but I'll have to remember that. Thanks for actually posting your solution.
