Hey guys, I'm not an I.T. professional by any way, shape or form but I have been looking into undervolting and overclocking as it increases stock perfomance of laptops significantly. Now obviously it's necesarry to optimize these changes for long term use but my question is whether my laptop can have any sort of damage using this on a daily basis in long terms. Also wondering why devs don't optimize these voltage and clocking settings in the first place. Wouldn't that make sense? I appriciate all constructive ideas or experiences. Cheers
As with anything, the CPU in you laptop won't be exactly the same as the CPU in someone else's laptop. Silicon lottery.
As for overclocking, this generally isn't done with laptops, because of their limited cooling systems. Undervoltinhg is fine. That is just taking advantage of the particular CPU you received. If it works with less voltage, by all means go for it.
