My internet keeps slowing to a crawl and at times disconnects or fails to work. If I release and renew the IP address it speeds up super fast and then gets slow after awhile.

Ideas? Spectrum said the router and modem, etc was fine. It's their equipment too.

Sounds like we need net neutrality.

I keep having to ipconfig /renew.

Might make that a .bat file until this thing works itself out.

Have you tried actually resetting the modem and router? If that doesn't help, consider buying your own router or modem/router combo. Spectrum has pretty shit equipment, I wouldn't use it for wireless at all.

The wireless is fine. It's my computer ethernet line that's having problems and yes I have. I have their newest equipment and it works wonderfully. This is the first time I've had problems. This equipment works with their systems so I don't plan on wasting money buying my own.

The error always mentions the DNS failing.

Try a different DNS?

Isn't default dns 8.8.8.8, not 1.1.1.1?
